Not all of us have calling to personally meet inmates and support their heart changes and recovery. However we all can support financially recovery of our society by donating for the project, in which volunteers – lecturers, teachers, art therapists, sports trainers, coaches, craftsmen, counselors, open another dimensions and colors to inmates, and help them to revalue life and gain firm decision not to return on the path of the crime.

Training in prisons and resocialization centers
Since 2017 with financial support from VAS Latvijas Valsts meži, Development fund “Celies” has acquired portable computers, projector and screen, developed training program in computer basics, entrepreneurship, etiquette and social networks to promote self employment for people in resocialization centers and inmates soon to be released from incarceration places. Until now we have trained around 150 trainees in five resocialization centers and eight imprisonment places in Latvia, thus providing participants of the training with greater opportunity of employment, resocialization, encouraging them to realize their talents and to start self employment.

Basketball in prison
In a length of two years Jānis Šults led basketball training for inmates from Riga central prison, developing inmates’ self discipline, cooperation and communication skills, and promoting healthy lifestyle.

Creativity, connected economy & offenders
Taking participation in Resocializācijas un Integrācijas association Erasmus + project “Creativity, connected economy & offenders”, fund “Celies” volunteers participated in development and testing of the learning tool “Learning to share and trust”. Volunteers participated in several international conferences, dedicated to questions of rehabilitation and resocialization of offenders.
